Secondary Injection Testing: A Practical Commissioning Guide
What secondary injection testing proves, how a test is staged from isolation to restoration, and the mistakes that make a relay test result unusable.

Building a Relay Test Plan That Survives Review
A relay test plan decides whether a commissioning job closes out cleanly. This guide covers the sections a reviewer expects and the records that make the results defensible.
Protection Relay Commissioning: A Field Checklist
A field checklist for protection relay commissioning, from inspection and settings verification through secondary injection and trip circuit tests to documentation handover.
Overcurrent Relay Testing: Procedure, Tolerances and Records
How to run an overcurrent relay test that survives review: pickup measurement, points on the time-current curve, instantaneous and directional checks, and the timing discipline behind defensible records.
IEC 61850 Substation Testing: What Changes for the Test Engineer
A digital bay replaces analog injection points with sampled values and GOOSE. This article covers what changes for the test engineer, what a conventional test set still proves, and what the process bus needs instead.
How to Choose a Relay Test Set: Channels, Power and Portability
A relay test set is specified by the schemes it has to prove. This guide compares a three-phase and a six-phase machine on channels, per-phase power and portability.
Distance Protection Relay Testing: Zones, Reach and Test Points
How to build a zone test matrix for distance protection: reach and boundary points, phase and earth loops, and the source impedance the test set presents.
CT and PT Testing: Reading Excitation Curves and Knee Points
How to measure an excitation curve, read the CT knee point, and check ratio, polarity and burden before the relay injection tests begin.
